From the Great Wall to the Grand Canyon: 10 Vacation Sites You Can’t Miss
Hello Besties, this blog post is for travelers that need some inspiration and motivation in their life to experience something for the first time again. When we were younger and having a lot of “firsts” life was exciting, then in adulthood we no longer look for those moments, instead we want safety and security which are important. But lets allow our younger self to be and enjoy new worldly experiences. If you don’t know where to start, here is a list of 10 must see vacation spots that will be one of your next unforgettable escapes.
The Grand Canyon — If you are planning a trip between April and June, I would say The Grand Canyon National Park is the place to go. There is so much awe-inspiring natural wonder is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. With its stunning vistas, rugged terrain, and abundant wildlife, the Grand Canyon is a must-see for any traveler. Pro tip: You can stay at Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon to get there as early as possible for pictures with the last amount of people if that’s your thing. It’s mine!
The Great Barrier Reef — Another amazing gem is located off the coast of Australia, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. It is home to thousands of species of fish, marine mammals, and other creatures, making it a mecca for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts. I get anxious in water but snorkeling in this location was worth the terror I felt before jumping in.
Machu Picchu — This ancient Incan city is nestled high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. My favorite part was the stunning views (Rainbow mountain) and the great people that you meet along the way. It has impressive architecture, it’s no wonder that Machu Picchu is one of the most popular vacation destinations in South America. I cannot wait to go back!
The Eiffel Tower — No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower: you can eat lunch in the tower or just marvel from afar. I have been to Paris 3 times in the past 7 years and every time I go, I fall in love even more. This towering landmark offers breathtaking views of the city and is a must-see for any traveler visiting France especially at night. Every hour on the hour, there is a sparkling show in the sky because of the Eiffel Tower. Last time I was there, I witnessed a proposal!
The Great Wall of China — This ancient wonder of the world is one of the most impressive feats of engineering in history. With its stunning vistas and rich history, the Great Wall is a must-see for any traveler visiting China. My travel hack was a 24 hour layover in China, took a cab straight to the beautiful sight, had lunch and came back for my flight. You can always create an adventure.
The Serengeti — Located in Tanzania, the Serengeti is one of the most famous national parks in Africa. With its vast savannas, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking sunsets, it’s a must-see for any traveler visiting the continent. If you love animals and nature then this is the place you absolutely need on your bucket list. The time is now.
The Taj Mahal — One of the seven wonders of the world, I never thought I would get to see The Taj Mahal but I made it several years ago on a girls trip. This stunning white marble mausoleum is located in Agra, India. Built in the 17th century, it is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world and a must-see for any traveler visiting India. It was breathtaking and once you enter the massive structure, a tour shows you the many gems inside. Book the tour besties!
The Great Pyramids of Giza — Located just outside of Cairo, Egypt, the Great Pyramids are one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Built over 4,500 years ago, these impressive structures are a testament to the ingenuity and skill of the ancient Egyptians. If you watch the show Ancient Aliens then I’m sure you know that this is an important site and if you go early, you get more time for photos.
The Northern Lights — Also known as the Aurora Borealis, this natural light show is one of the most stunning sights in the world. To catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, head to Norway, Iceland, or Alaska during the winter months. I viewed it from Iceland and although it was cold, it was worth the view. Make sure to wear layers and extra clothes just in case you get wet because cold and wet are one the worst combos. I want to view it from Alaska next. Who’s coming..
The Galapagos Islands — Finally, located off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands are home to some of the most unique and diverse wildlife on the planet. With its stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife, it’s a must-see for any traveler interested in nature and ecology. One of the most unique animals you will find here are giant tortoises and marine iguanas. This is a picturesque island.
